The Bigger Picture

“The key to understanding the problem in the didjeridoo incident lies in the fact that indigenous people have their territory stolen, their society displaced” and their culture suppressed. When a minority group observes the dominant group wearing their style or creating their art, it is looked upon as if they are taking away something again from these minority groups because they have been oppressed before already.  Diversity plays a big role into today’s society as the action of diversifying something or the fact of becoming more diverse. There’s no way in avoiding other peoples culture, this creates a new experience and knowledge for an individual standpoint and members of a group. No one appreciates when the credit is not due. Educating yourself and others to issues can bring you a long way into creating awareness to these problems and understanding more.
